The Empty Table

Chapter 44

Season 10 - Chapter 1: The 13th Chair

6 Months After The Epilogue. 11:11 PM. Salem.

The 13th chair was still empty.

But its symbols were glowing.

Ancient writing. Like a map.

Umi: "This chair is calling us."

Miri: "From where?"

Fritz: looked through the Lens. "Iceland. A village. It has no name."

Alex: "And there’s another table there."

Hana - Tokyo: on video call "We felt it too. A new vibration."

Amina - Lagos: "Yes. Not hungry. Scared."

The Book: _Season 10: The Network

New Table Detected: The Forgotten Table

Location: Iceland.

Status: 1 Author left.

Problem: She doesn’t remember how to share._

Lila: touched the 13th chair.

Suddenly the whole room turned freezing cold.

Then warm.

Then it smelled like: ocean + books + rain.

Umi: "Alright. Team assemble."

12 Authors. 4 continents.

They all booked tickets at the same time. 11:11 PM flight.

Target: Iceland.

Mission: Save the Forgotten Table and the last Author.

11:11 PM. Iceland. An abandoned lighthouse.

The wind was going crazy.

Inside: Table 13.

White. Blue rim. But covered in frost and dust.

1 chair. 1 person.

Her.

In her 20s. White hair. Empty eyes.

In front of her: an empty notebook. No pen.

Because she lost her pen 10 years ago.

The Forgotten Author: whisper _"Please don’t sit.

If you sit... I’ll have to remember.

And remembering hurts."_

Around her: The Silence.

A new shadow. The Hunger’s sibling.

It doesn’t eat sound. It doesn’t eat warmth.

It doesn’t eat memories. It leaves you without them.

The Silence: _"She gave me everything.

Now she’s empty.

Perfect."_

The 12 Authors walked in through the door.

The Silence turned.

"12 against 1? Still not enough."

Umi: stepped forward. She didn’t have the Pen in her hand.

Because this time it wasn’t a weapon we needed. It was a gift.

Umi: "We didn’t come to fight.

We came to bring you a chair.

13 of them."

The Forgotten Author cried. For the first time in 10 years.

"I... I forgot my name."

Hana: from Tokyo. Wrote a note: I am Hana.

Amina: from Lagos. I am Amina.

The São Paulo leader: I am Mateus.

One by one. They said their names.

The Silence pulled back. It can’t erase memory.

If that memory is being shared.

Umi: pulled the 13th chair to the table.

"Until you remember your name,

our names are your name.

Sit."

The Forgotten Author sat down.

The table creaked. Then... it glowed.

Blue light filled the entire lighthouse.

The notebook opened. A pen appeared.

She started to write:

My name is... Elin.

The Silence screamed and fell apart.

Table 13 was saved.
