I knew this was my last night. I read the last pages of my book trying to think about my new life after saying goodbye to my loved ones. I was sure I would be asleep forever when the sun lit up the world again. ~4 days ago~ My dear friend Hilal lived in front of our college. We spent our childhood exploring the relationship between life and sleep, and we still continued to explore it. But I didn't pay much attention to this topic anymore. And he became more and more closed, distanced from real life. This sometimes led to small arguments between Hilal and us. "One can live better in one's dreams." the thought no longer appealed to me as before. Until I learned about my illness, which was said to be serious from the doctors. I had no hope of living anymore. I did not want to live and refused to be treated. Hilal respected my decision and said that he was with me and would help me spend my last days well. During this time, I tried to find a way to live again in my dreams, I often talked about it, and sometimes I thought about giving up on this idea. But my friend was determined. He said he would do everything he could for me. Because I was his family and he had to protect his family. The worst thing for me would be to leave him alone in life... I was sitting in my room wondering how many days I had left. While I was drinking my tea, the door suddenly opened and broke :). As soon as I stood up, Hilal jumped on my neck. "Shifting!" It was clear that he ran away without breathing. He took deep breaths until he calmed down and began to speak: "I found it.. It was possible to live in your dreams. It might be a little risky, but it's worth the risk." "Wait a minute. I got it right? I'm going to shift and go to sleep that night and continue to live there?" As always, this time I questioned whether I understood the conversation my friend had interrupted. - Yes, you understood correctly! But it is not infinite, there you will have only one soul, just like in real life. It can be risky. You can wake up suddenly. There was something very important. It didn't make me immortal. It just allowed me to live a little longer. I could live there for months or even years, maybe just 1-2 days. During this time I should have been very well protected from the dangers I faced and I should not have died to live longer. Just like in our real life. Without it, we have lived with this risk since we were born. I thought I would have trouble. In the end, "It will be worth it." I said.. ~Today~ I finished my book. I drank my water excitedly and lay down on the bed, closing my eyes for the last time. I started counting to 100. 97, 98, 99 and... I was lost in the void. ~~~~~~~~~♧~~~~~~~~~ Seconds later I reached the end of the dark tunnel. I had preconceived notions before arriving, but it was even more beautiful than I had imagined. I was in a green meadow. I was surrounded by the fragrance of beautiful flowers and the cheerful songs of birds. When I raised my head, I looked at the scene in front of me in amazement. I just looked. And because I was deprived of this beauty, I thought I had never lived before. In front of me was a magnificent palace. The walls were covered in lilac color. Its pillars reaching up to the sky were decorated with pointed amethyst stones, and its prominent doors were decorated with citrine stones, which looked very much like gold. I took a deep breath and slowly started walking towards the palace. But the palace was far away. If I had a horse... - wait a minute! Just like I had dreamed, a magnificent horse with long black hair was coming towards me. It was as if he understood that I needed him. There was something strange about this, but now I wanted to go to palace too much to spend time thinking about it. At the gate of the palace, I was met by soldiers standing on two sides: - Who are you? Where did you come from? I didn't know what to say. I didn't think they would believe me, but trying to stand up straight, I managed to say: "I'm Mira. I came here from a far away land." Suddenly the doors opened. A tall, blond, middle-aged man; on the left side, a graceful, blue-eyed woman with golden hair neatly combed; next to the woman was a slightly younger woman who was just as elegant. On the right side of the man stood a young tall boy with neatly combed golden hair and green eyes. They were slowly approaching the door of the palace. For a moment I thought they were welcoming me, but when I looked behind me a little, I saw a boy about my age coming on a horse. As I got closer, I noticed that he was more handsome than I thought. When his horse stopped next to me, he looked at me carefully: "It seems that I am not the only one who is welcome.", he said without hiding his laugh. Seeing my surprise, the boy nodded and introduced himself, "Prince Edward is the young prince of the Kingdom of Sakaris. You?" - I...Mira, a voice from inside said that she would believe me. He leaned over and said, "I just want to tell you and your family where I'm from." He did not expect this answer. But keeping his composure, he turned his gaze to his family. The king and his family came towards us. We dismounted as a sign of respect. The man whom I thought was the king looked at me carefully and began to speak in a quiet and majestic voice: "I'm sorry, I couldn't recognize you.",- After bowing and saying hello, I carefully chose my words and introduced myself: "Mira. Here-" Edward interrupted me and said: "He is my guest, my king."
